Troy began his career in career in STEM after graduating from the University of Central Florida in 2017 with his Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After working a few jobs, he found his passion for engineering and electrical work. At the time, he was living on the west coast of Florida and was able to obtain a role as an engineering technician with Hydrodyne Engineering followed by a contract job of the same role with Bausch and Lomb. This finally led him to move to Orlando, Florida in 2019 to continue his education. After the move, Troy landed the role of engineering technician, again, for Orange County Utilities. While working this job, he was able to start college again at UCF. From there, he found the electrical apprenticeship with the Walt Disney Company, which allowed him to also move to Valencia College under the Aspire program. At Valencia College, he is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical Concentration. In the rotations of the electrical apprenticeship, Troy worked in building maintenance at Wilderness Lodge Resort, park power and lighting in Magic Kingdom, attraction maintenance with the opening team for Tiana's Bayou Adventure, and finally with the protection and controls team at Reedy Creek Energy Services. He currently still works with RCES, but now as a High Voltage Power Distribution Technician maintaining the electric transmission and distribution infrastructure across the Walt Disney World property.
